Since Hair is essentially a pastiche of production numbers with a plot line loosely woven in (as compared to a traditional book musical), I was interested in creating a through line of choreography that deepened the sense of 'tribe' indicated in the book. To do this, I focused on some postmodern dance techniques such as re-envisioned pedestrian movement (Aquarius, Ain't Got No Grass), parody (I'm Goin' Down, I Got Life), and hyperreality (Walking In Space, 3-5-0-0).
